In IPL Auctions 2017 for IPL 2017 season, Ben Stokes marks his presence as a high budget player. Where Pune picks him in a whopping Rs 14.50 crore for the upcoming season of the most popular cricket game in India.
Ben Stokes took over all the players in the yesterday’s player auction and stood as the most expensive player. Also, he is the most expensive foreign player in the IPL history. The England all-rounder will be playing in Rising Pune Supergiants which clears that the team is totally focusing on quality players.
Most foreign players excelled in the auctions whereas the another England fast bowler Tymal Mills signed a 12-crore contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Also, a new player Rajasthan’s seamer Aniket Choudhary was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in Rs 2 crores. While the Tamil Nadu’s fast bowler T Natarajan was sold in a higher amount many times more than his base amount in 3 crores by Kings XI Punjab.
As a foreign player, Ben Stokes was the most expensive buy sold at Rs 14.50 crore. On the other hand, the most expensive player from India was Karn Vinod Sharma who was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 3.2 crore.
The reputed players like Ishant Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Irfan Pathan, Pragyan Ojha, RP Singh and Parvez Rasool were unable to draw the attentions of the bidders at the auctions. The defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad made a surprise bid by purchasing Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan in for Rs 4 crore.
