India’s former captain MS Dhoni scored a century against Chhattisgarh in Vijay Hazare Trophy. The inning played by the skipper was worth watching. The stands were exploding with the noise and applause when the captain cool started beating the ball and scored 129 runs which includes 10 fours and six sixes.
The match took place on Sunday 26th February at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, where Jharkhand the match and scored 243/9 and defeated Chhattisgarh by 78 runs and their score, was 165 in 38.4 overs. Both the teams are in Group D.
In the first match of Jharkhand which was against Karnataka where Karnataka scored 266 from 49.4 Overs and Jharkhand got all out on 261 from 49.5 Overs. Karnataka captain Manish Pandey was the highest scorer who made 77 runs from 95 balls.
In their first match, MS Dhoni scored 43 from 50 balls. In yesterday’s match, Dhoni walked on the pitch at a crucial moment when the team’s score was 43/4. After in just a few minutes another 2 wickets fall and with that much pressure captain cool maintained the team balance and made a good partnership with Shahbaz Nadeem.
Both MS Dhoni and Shahbaz Nadeem made 151 runs partnership for the 7th wicket and succeeded in passing the team score out of the 200 runs mark. Their partnership lasted till the 48th over when Shahbaz Nadeem was caught by Ashutosh in the Pankaj Rao’s ball.
From the Chhattisgarh side, the most successful bowler was Abhuday Kant Singh who took 4 wickets in 10 overs and gave just 33 runs. While from Jharkhand side Shahbaz Nadeem took 3 wickets in 7.4 overs and gave 36 runs.
