WWE Royal Rumble 2017: Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns

WWE Royal Rumble 2017 has officially announced the first match which will be played between Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. The main catch for the event will the stipulation, introduced by Raw General Manager Mick Foley that Kevin Owens best friend Chris Jericho, will be suspended 20 feet above the ring in a locked shark cage. This will favor Roman Reigns as Kevin Owens best friend would not be able to help him this time, while Roman Reigns pairing with Seth Rollins might be a reason to worry for Kevin Owens.

Till now Owens and Jericho’s friendship, always in service of Owens’ title reign, but due to the stipulation introduced by the General Manager it would be tough for Owens to defend his championship against Roman Reigns. Let’s see whether Kevin Owens retain his title or else we will have a new WWE Universal Champion.

WWE Royal Rumble 2017: Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns

During the title contest at Roadblock: End of the Line Jericho attacked Owens the ambush caused Reigns to be disqualified and allowed Owens to retain the championship this eventually helped Kevin Owens. But at first it looked as an act of betrayal, but gone in the favor of Owens. By watching this the things don’t look that simple, is it a state of the Rivalry between Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens, which would result in their match at Wrestlemania 33.

The paring of Roman Reigns with Seth Rollins is the new storyline in the wwe which can create problems for Kevin Owens. As interference of Seth Rollins may result in a huge difference over the match result, while Kevin Owens best friend Chris Jericho would be hanging 20 feet above the ring in a locked shark cage.

You can watch the championship match at the 30th Royal Rumble, airing live on the WWE Network Sunday, Jan. 29, at special start time of 7 ET/4 PT.
